Industrial Engineer

Job Summary: To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineer located in Flex Skudai. Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager, the Industrial Engineer role is responsible for increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

What a typical day looks like:

1. Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
2. Simulates process, materials, and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineer by using REFA, MTM, FLEXSIM, and/or adequate tools.
3. During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time, and direct labor requirement.
4. Reviews result during prototyping and trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team.
5. Work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
6. Analyzes workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
7. Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
8. Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
9. May develop management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
10. Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost analysis and designs production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
11. Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as determining the most efficient plant locations.
12. Leads and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve performance in constrained areas like LEAN, Automation, and/or 6Sigma projects.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in addition to 5 years of operations experience.
• Minimum 3 years related working experiences in new project setup, including line balancing, capacity planning, and layout planning.
• Ability to present information to management and public groups.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
