Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Due to unprecedented growth my client established a new renewable design house and manufacturing facility in Rawang, Selangor Malaysia.

The design house will be expanding the expertise in power generation systems and integration of renewable technologies particularly battery energy storage systems and micro-grid design.

This has led to the creation of several Electrical Engineering Roles from Senior Leadership to CAD drafters.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with other engineering and manufacturing team members and project leads on a day-to-day basis based in Australia or Malaysia for products to comply with Australian and International regulations.
• Undertake the development of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Schematics, Control architecture drawings, Termination drawings using the Autodesk suite of products, for the purpose of fabrication, assembly and manufacture of designed equipment both locally and in Australia creating clear fit for purpose manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification. Liaise with Malaysian suppliers to source appropriate cost competitive yet fit for purpose componentry. Assessing quality and vendor pre-qualification.
• Report writing, instruction manuals and internal documentation, specification development in clear English. Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Inspection Test Reports (ITR).
• While being based in Rawang, may be available to travel to Australia, local manufacturing sites or other implementation sites on occasions.

Job Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree in Electrical, or similar
• Excellent working knowledge Electrical CAD (mandatory) Autocad Electrical (desirable) maintaining CAD libraries such that efficient creation of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Schematics, Control architecture drawings and Termination drawings
• Good working knowledge of Control systems and programming languages (desirable)
• Strong grasp of AC and DC Electrical fundamentals (mandatory) documented using hand calculations or computer aids (mandatory)
• Design of power generation equipment or related industrial equipment with exposure to the renewable energy sector (desirable)
• Excellent English written and spoken communication using the MS office suite of products (mandatory) Superior excel skills (desirable)
• Strong grasp of structural, thermal and electrical design theory.

The ideal candidate will stand out from the pack if they are able to demonstrate their practical experience in a range of manufacturing systems that they will form part of their work such as:

• Electrical Product design of power generation equipment, switch board design or industrial equipment with exposure to the renewable energy sector
• Demonstrated knowledge of the supply base around Kuala Lumpur
