About the job
We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to work in offshore, shipyard, and power plant constructions all over the world. The Commissioning Engineer is an important player in the project delivery to the customer. You are responsible for ensuring that the steam system works according to the technical specifications, handling the practical commissioning work of fired boilers and waste heat recovery systems. In your role, you work closely with our project organization, as well as with customers on-site.
Job Description
- Participate in FAT tests prior to commissioning on site.
- Responsible for checking that the systems and plants at customer site are ready for start-up, including I/O tests and mechanical inspection.
- Start-up and commissioning according to specified procedures, including testing of functionality and completion of SAT tests.
- Reporting of results, including feedback to the project team.
- Training of customers’ operators and handing over of the installation.
- Assist the project managers to ensure that plants and systems delivered to the customers are according to specifications when shipped from AL.
- Participate in project reviews to ensure that experience from previous commissioning jobs are brought back to new projects and new standard concepts.
- Execute performance reviews of installations that are already handed over to customers.
- Coach and mentor less experienced commissioning engineers, checking the quality of their work and helping them resolve problems and issues.
What You Know
- You have 2-3 years’ experience working as a commissioning or service engineer in a technical area and applicable electrical education (B.Sc.).
- You are motivated by challenges and can maintain high performance while working under pressure.
- You are a cooperative team player and able to communicate in fluent English.
- You have a systematic working style and solution-finding ability.
- You can structure and organize your work and are committed to delivering agreed results.
- You have a customer-centric approach and a positive attitude toward customer service and solution-finding ability.
- You possess good knowledge in electrical engineering / PLC systems.
- You are willing to travel (150-200 travel days/year).
- You are fluent in reporting and documenting your work and can use MS-Office tools.
We also appreciate
- Previous experience in steam systems.
- Mandatory education in electrical engineering.
- Know-how and experience in burners.
- Special skills in energy technology, thermodynamics, flow dynamics, and/or water treatment.
- Experience of working abroad and traveling.
