German-Dutch ORYX STAINLESS GROUP is a leading supplier of secondary raw materials for the world's largest stainless steel manufacturers. By globally sourcing, importing, processing and blending large volumes of stainless steel scrap, we guarantee precise specifications, in big quantities, as reliable supply chain partner to their smelters in the region.

For our suppliers, swift payments for the expensive materials are a major reason dealing with us. Our finance & accounting team works closely with our buyers (sourcing worldwide) and kick into action well before materials arrive on our yard (we pre-pay). Once verified by our QC team, final settlement is arranged before materials are stowed by yard operations and meticulously accounted for in stock.

The amount and value of the materials on our yard fluctuate with global metal markets (LME), making excellent inventory accounting and valuation a critical contribution. We deal extensively with customs, tax and other government authorities in Malaysia and overseas. Our business is international, 100% of what we ship is exported.

What you will do:

• Monthly, Quarterly and Year-End Closings: Complete monthly and year-end closing, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports according to prevailing accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Accounts Payable: Capture payables and work closely with the back-office department for timely payment to our supplier.

Welcome additional knowledge (otherwise we train you on it):

• Costing: Basic knowledge about the impact of commodity price and foreign exchange swings on the inventory valuation would be great.
• Monitor and Manage Cash Flow: Oversee daily cash flow activities to ensure that cash levels meet operational needs. Manage any shortfalls or surpluses effectively.
• Audit Support: Assist external auditors by providing documentation and responding to inquiries regarding general ledger activities.
• Taxation: Sound knowledge of withholding tax and corporate tax and responsible for preparation of income tax schedule.

Who you are:

• CPA, ACCA, degree in accounting, or equivalent; if not completed we may sponsor your education.
• 8+ years' experience, at least 2-3 periods where you closed accounts (mostly) by yourself.
• Worked with a major ERP system (we use Navision) and Microsoft Office 365.
• Attention to detail, at high speed, high volume of data and transactions, often with time pressure.
• Independent yet collaborative, in a small team, multitasking, hands-on.
• Familiarity with manufacturing/construction environment helps. We operate in Tanjung Langsat.
