Job Overview
The Product Engineer mainly supports item creation and amendment, specification (external and internal) updates, BOM updates due to localisation and process flow improvements.

Principal Accountabilities
Key activities will include:

  1. Handling new/amendment product requisitions with sales and customer within target lead time (including specification, artwork, color development, tooling design, all related documentations, technical consult based on machine and operation capability & optimization).
  2. Handling customer requests for data, Level 1 sample & FAI reports, and other technical related information.
  3. Handling customer specification review with internal team and complete sign off agreement with customer.
  4. Order new tooling, ink/liquid, consumables within target lead time.
  5. Create, review, maintain and amend Item in ERP system - Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) / QAD.
  6. Create, review, maintain and revise internal specifications against customers approved specification and ensure zero error prior release to production.
  7. Handling new artwork production first run buy off process.
  8. Support in troubleshooting tooling, process & specification related issues in a customer complaint investigation and operations difficulties.
  9. Elevate Associate Product Engineer’s responsibilities and skillsets to take on most routines.
  10. Travel to AFS for on-site supports which deemed necessary agreed with the HOD.
  11. Any other tasks as assigned by the company.

Other Duties

  1. Participate in stock take and other company's activities.
  2. Attend training.
  3. Act towards ad hoc duties.

Qualifications/Requirements

  1. Minimum Degree in Engineering/Technical/Printing Technology/Polymer Science related.
  2. Min 3 years' experience in a similar role in the packaging industry.
  3. Meticulous, analytical, independent and strong accountability.
  4. Good in Microsoft Excel, Word, has slight experience in ERP system.
  5. Discipline, able to follow lead time in works and follow instructions.
  6. Good communication skills and able to liaise cross-departments.
  7. Well-rounded and able to multi-task.
  8. Understand product knowledge, customer requirements, analysis of product and process capability are plus points.
  9. Able to lead and distribute tasks.
