Job Description

  • Governance:
    • Ensure the bank's compliance risk governance framework aligns with both group and regulatory expectations.
    • Monitor the execution of the compliance program.
  • Risk Management:
    • Take the lead in implementing effective compliance risk management strategies within the bank.
    • Supervise the prompt reporting and escalation of compliance risk incidents, ensuring adherence to established standards and timelines.
    • Support the immediate supervisor in coordinating and managing reviews or inspections by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advisory:
    • Keep the immediate supervisor updated on the latest regulatory developments.
    • Offer advice and guidance on interpreting regulatory requirements and implementing internal policies and procedures.
    • Lead, engage, and oversee discussions with business and support units on advisory matters related to compliance risk.
  • Training and Awareness:
    • Conduct training sessions to enhance stakeholders' comprehension of pertinent laws and regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education/Professional Qualifications:
    • Possesses a Recognized Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Laws, or equivalent.
    • Possession of Certification/Professional Certification in Regulatory Compliance is considered an additional asset.
  • Work Experience:
    • Demonstrates over 12 years of relevant experience, showcasing a robust understanding of the banking regulatory landscape and associated regulations.
    • Proficient in banking operations, procedures, and systems, enabling effective assessment and evaluation for managing and mitigating compliance risks.
    • Proven track record in compliance risk assessment methodology, adept at formulating and executing compliance review plans, and conducting comprehensive compliance training and awareness across all lines of defense.
  • Personal Attributes & Characteristics:
    • Exhibits strong planning and organizational skills, complemented by excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in Mandarin is a mandatory requirement.
    • Possesses effective communication skills, with a talent for influencing others and establishing fruitful relationships with local and external regulatory bodies.
    • Demonstrates the capacity to collaborate seamlessly within teams and with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge/Tools/Skills:
    • Proficient in the understanding of key regulatory requirements, demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge base in this area
