Head of Engineering | Payment Gateway Company

About the Company: The company was founded in 2015, registered with Bank Negara Malaysia as a Merchant Acquiring Services provider and Mastercard International as a Payment Facilitator for the Asia Pacific region.

Salary Range: RM 15,000 - RM 30,000

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Traveling required: Local and International

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership: Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
2. Team Building and Management: Recruit, mentor, and lead an engineering team, promoting innovation and collaboration.
3. Project Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure on-time, within-budget project completion.
4. Product Development: Work with various stakeholders to define requirements and deliver payment solutions.
5. Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing practices to maintain high product quality.
6. Technology Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and integrate new technologies as appropriate.
7. Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering budget efficiently.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the engineering team and executive leadership, providing updates on project status and challenges.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in payments or fintech.
3. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of development methodologies, architecture, and infrastructure; proficiency in modern languages and frameworks.
4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with strong mentorship skills.
5. Project Management: Excellent skills in managing complex projects within budget and timelines.
6. Communication: Exceptional ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
7. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving abilities.
8. Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
