Job Description
Public Relations Manager Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinating all public relations activities
- Developing a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics
- Developing media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media
- Directing social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Leveraging existing media relationships and cultivating new contacts within business and industry media
- Managing media inquiries and interview requests
- Creating content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations
- Monitoring, analyzing, and communicating PR results on a quarterly basis
- Evaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an ongoing basis
- Building relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
- Maintaining a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and making appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Understanding and managing influencer campaigns (lifestyle and industry-focused) in a multiplatform setting
- Monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing influencer campaign performance
- Creating sentiment reports from influencer campaigns
Qualifications
Skills and requirements of a Public Relations Manager:
- Must be a confident communicator and presenter
- Entrepreneurial mindset and able to lead a team independently with minimal supervision
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
- Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
- Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with attention to detail
- Possess the ability to keep information confidential
- Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
- Ability to work in high-stress environments, often for long hours
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
