The Construction Manager (Solar) oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of solar energy projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that all aspects of construction align with safety standards, project specifications, budget constraints, and deadlines.
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to outline project specifications and requirements.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
Construction Oversight:
- Supervise the construction process from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and laborers, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Address and resolve issues that arise during the construction process.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to enhance project profitability.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, providing regular updates on project status.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, address concerns, and outline next steps.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy or project management are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in M&E construction management, with a focus on solar energy projects.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale solar projects from inception to completion.
- Skills:
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems and installation processes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves a mix of office work and on-site supervision.
- Travel to various project sites is required.
