Circle Lead, Overseas & Commercial Recovery

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Circle Lead, Overseas & Commercial Recovery to join our team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will be responsible for driving recovery performance across overseas branches and subsidiaries, while also overseeing domestic corporate and commercial recovery strategies. You will work closely with regional and local stakeholders to enhance recovery outcomes, align strategic objectives, and contribute to the Bank’s overall financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Drive recovery performance for overseas branches and subsidiaries, ensuring achievement of recovery targets and contribution to the Bank’s P&L.
• Maintain close and continuous engagement with overseas counterparts to understand country-specific strategic, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Provide guidance and advisory on recovery strategies and proposals to overseas branches and subsidiaries.
• Expedite issue resolution and remove operational obstacles impacting recovery performance across regions.
• Provide feedback and insights on overseas operations to support strategic decision‑making at the Bank level.
• Ensure alignment between overseas operations’ objectives and the Bank’s overall strategy and direction.
• Formulate and implement account strategies and action plans to achieve recovery budgets and strengthen Group P&L and balance sheet.
• Manage designated impaired accounts (including debt conversion instruments) and non‑impaired accounts in rehabilitation or exit mode, covering both Conventional and Islamic portfolios.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in banking, with strong exposure to recovery, restructuring, or credit management (corporate and commercial segments).
• Strong understanding of cross-border banking operations and recovery strategies.
• Proven ability to manage impaired accounts and drive recovery outcomes.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and execute action plans.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging regional and international counterparts.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented, and able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
