Company Background
We are representing our client who started their business in the wood industry and subsequently diversified into various sectors including construction, consumer products, banking and financial services, oil and petroleum products, transport and logistics, telecommunications, and various franchises. As they continue to expand into the distribution of fertilizer, they are seeking a General Manager who can provide strategic leadership and direct the overall operations and resources of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop, refine, and implement the company's strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with the company's core mission.
- Financial Management: Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing. Assure transparency and efficiency in financial management.
- Operations Oversight: Manage and streamline company operations to maximize efficiency and quality of service. Oversee the procurement, distribution, and supply chain processes to ensure they meet the needs of our clients and comply with regulations.
- Market Expansion: Identify opportunities for expansion and growth by researching industry trends, market activities, and competitors. Develop and oversee the implementation of business plans for expansion into new markets.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including clients, suppliers, government agencies, and industry groups to enhance business growth and company reputation.
- Leadership and Organizational Culture: Build and maintain a high-performing management team. Foster a competitive and entrepreneurial company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the company complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Implement effective risk management strategies and internal controls.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainability and CSR initiatives, ensuring that the company leads as a responsible corporate entity with a focus on environmental, social, and economic practices.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma, Degree or Master's Degree holder in Business Administration, Agriculture, or related fields.
- Proven experience in a senior managerial position within a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, sales, finance, HR, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of the agriculture and fertilizer industry's standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Must be willing to be based in Laos.
Benefits and Info:
- One way moving allowance of RM 1,000.
- Working Visa cost to be borne by employer.
- Annual leave - 15 days.
- Medical leave - 30 days.
- Insurance - Up to USD 10,000 (IPD).
- Special leave - Country of origin's National Day.
- Working hours 8:00 to 17:30 (Monday to Friday).
- Transport to and from office.
