Job Title: Planner (New, Private sector!)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our client’s private practice for the role of Planner within their Bristol Office. The successful candidate will join the Company’s friendly and growing team and assist senior staff on a broad range of challenging and exciting projects.

The firm, which was originally formed in 1991, became an employee-owned business over the last couple of years, and is now one of the largest independent town planning consultancies in England. The Company presently has offices in Bedford, Bristol, Nottingham, Rugby, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, London, Sheffield, and Leeds.

They work in both the private and public sectors, across a range of professional areas and have many high-profile and long-standing clients, to whom we provide bespoke professional advice.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to build your career in Planning and work across the spectrum of town planning activities including:

  1. Promotion of large-scale development projects
  2. Preparation and submission of planning applications
  3. Appeals for a range of development types
  4. Local plan representations

The successful candidate will be a positive, proactive individual with the drive to meet client expectations and promote the business. You will be expected to possess good analytical, presentation, and written skills, together with a proven ability to manage your time effectively.

As a Planner in the private sector, you will be exposed to a range of tasks, as well as CPD training opportunities to develop you as a professional. We also have an established staff mentoring system to help guide your professional and personal development.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a qualified Planner ideally with 1-3 years professional experience (either private or public sector). Candidates should be educated to undergraduate level (2:1 or above) and have obtained (or are at least working towards) a postgraduate qualification in Planning.

On appointment, you will be expected to commence the process of gaining chartered membership of the RTPI as soon as possible – full support and sponsorship towards this will be provided by the company.
