SMT Process Engineer

Job Description:

1. Process Development:

• Design and develop SMT processes for the efficient assembly of electronic components onto PCBs.
  
• Develop requirement specifications system concepts detail drawings and BOMs.
  
• Create layouts for complex assemblies and detailed parts of devices mechanisms and structures.
  
• Develop and implement changes to product design and/or the manufacturing process to achieve efficiency quality and/or cost improvements.
  

2. Process Optimization:

• Continuously analyze and improve SMT production processes to increase efficiency reduce cycle times and minimize defects.
  
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot problems manage upgrades setups develop methods development and process parameters.
  
• Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA).
  
• Identify the root cause of technical issues and implement process improvements.
  

3. Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to SMT processes to ensure the production of highquality electronic assemblies.
  
• Investigate and resolve quality issues in production processes to maintain high standards.
  

4. Training and Documentation:

• Provide training to production personnel on SMT processes equipment operation and best practices to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including process instruction Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and work instruction for SMT operations.
  

5. Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in SMT processes.
  
• Implement initiatives to optimize material utilization minimize waste and reduce production costs.
  

6. Any other adhoc tasks assigned by the management.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering materials engineering manufacturing engineering industrial engineering or a related field.
  
• Proven experience in SMT process development and optimization within the electronics manufacturing industry preferably 3 years or above of experience in SMT.
  
• Strong knowledge of SMT equipment technology and processes.
  
• Familiarity with CAD software for designing and detailing parts and assemblies.
  
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate crossfunctionally and communicate complex information clearly.
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  
• Handson role requiring regular interaction with the production floor and engineering teams.
  
• Excellent conceptual analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia in both verbal and written communication.

Salary Range:

• From RM8000 to RM10000
