Our client is a market leader in the industry. Boasting on their revenue, global presence, and huge clientele, our client is looking to remain competitive and they believe in hiring the best talent to produce the best results. Due to the aggressive development of the business, they are looking for an Associate General Counsel (APAC) to further add value to the business.

Job Description

As this role is essential to the organization, it is vital candidate comes with a track record of delivery and proven experience. Among the many responsibilities are listed below:

• Ability to lead the legal function in the APAC region and be pro-active within the management team
• Manage a team of legal associates
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising in respect of a variety of agreements
• Responding to the legal aspects in tender responses
• Liaise with the global legal team in EMEA and US and comply with any requests
• Assist with the APAC region to create / implement / review / amend processes/training as and when required
• Provide ad hoc legal advice and assistance when required.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Associate General Counsel (APAC) will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company while possessing the below requirements;

• Law Degree or equivalent.
• 5 years plus PQE or equivalent.
• Experience in leading APAC legal teams
• Must be able to work independently for matters under the laws of Malaysia
• It would be an advantage to have Mandarin language skills
• Must have telecommunications / IT experience
• It would be an advantage to have experience dealing with companies in the financial services sector.
• It would be an advantage to have in-house experience and ability to communicate with non-legal personnel and provide practical solutions
