Manager, Data Center Site Operations

Job Description

• Operations Management: Lead and ensure smooth 24x7 running of the in-country data centre, maintaining 100% facility availability in compliance with all SLAs, legal, regulatory, budget, and audit requirements.
• Incident & Change Management: Act as the Level 3 escalation point for all onsite operational incidents and major issues, leading incident, problem, and change management activities to minimise impact on customer services.
• Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Review and improve the preventive maintenance programme on an ongoing basis, guiding teams to enhance services and processes in line with ITIL and industry best practices.
• Compliance & Certification: Lead all data centre-related certifications and compliance implementation, developing and reviewing policies, SOPs, and Emergency Operating Procedures for both internal and external customers.
• Safety & Vendor Management: Ensure strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, and regulations; review and approve purchase orders and support vendor performance reviews.
• Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Generate periodic reports for management review and contribute to meetings, while delivering a consistently high customer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computing, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; with relevant certifications such as ITIL, CDCP, CDCS, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing 24x7 critical data centre operations, with strong knowledge of M&E and building facility systems (CRAUs, Chillers, PDUs, DRUPS, UPS, Switch Gears, DX Cooling, and network cabling).
• Familiar with data centre certification standards including LEED Gold, ISO 20000/22301/27001, and Uptime Institute Tier III, with good working knowledge of local codes and regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers/specialists, with strong vendor management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in MS Office and prepared to lead major data centre activities outside of standard office hours when required.
