Position: Business Development Manager - Air and Ocean Freight

Location: Penang

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition and Retention:
  2. Identify and target potential clients in the Singapore market for both air and ocean freight services. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Sales Strategy:
  4. Devise and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to tailor sales approaches and capitalize on business opportunities.
  5. Networking and Relationship Building:
  6. Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company's presence. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including shippers, consignees, and industry partners.
  7. Market Intelligence:
  8. Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments related to air and ocean freight. Provide regular reports and insights to the management team for informed decision-making.
  9. Collaboration with Operations:
  10. Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery. Coordinate with various departments to address client needs and resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record in B2B sales, with a focus on air and ocean freight services.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the Singapore logistics and freight forwarding market.
  3. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  4. Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  5. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  7. Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and managing key client relationships.
