Position: Business Development Manager - Air and Ocean Freight
Location: Penang
Responsibilities:
- Client Acquisition and Retention:
- Identify and target potential clients in the Singapore market for both air and ocean freight services. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Sales Strategy:
- Devise and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to tailor sales approaches and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Networking and Relationship Building:
- Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company's presence. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including shippers, consignees, and industry partners.
- Market Intelligence:
- Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments related to air and ocean freight. Provide regular reports and insights to the management team for informed decision-making.
- Collaboration with Operations:
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery. Coordinate with various departments to address client needs and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in B2B sales, with a focus on air and ocean freight services.
- In-depth knowledge of the Singapore logistics and freight forwarding market.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry.
- Demonstrated success in winning new business and managing key client relationships.
