JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales Engineer operates as the customer-facing technical expert for Scality in Malaysia and surrounding region, focused on supporting local Account Executives on their pursuit of business. Sales Engineers are managed as part of the wider Sales Engineering team in EMEA and are integral to a global community focused on supporting Scality and Partner Sales Teams.

HIGHLIGHTS

1. Represent Scality in region as a pre-sales engineer supporting local account executives.
2. Technically qualify opportunities and determine compatibility between Scality products and the prospects’ technical requirements.
3. Present product roadmaps and information to customers and partners.
4. Coordinate proof-of-concepts and develop product demonstrations.
5. Architect solutions that meet the specified requirements, including selecting suitable third-party integrations.
6. Enable Partner Sales and Pre-Sales teams to pursue, qualify opportunities, and conduct initial customer interactions, ultimately becoming Scality evangelists.
7. Support partners in responding to requests for information (RFIs), purchase orders (POs), and questions (Qs) for qualified opportunities.
8. Provide SCA training to partners in the region.
9. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Scality technology and its vision.
10. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant industry sector and key competitive technologies.
11. Communicate customer requirements to Scality Product Management teams to influence future product development.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Recent success in global, multicultural organizational settings, integrating a dynamic startup culture with an understanding and sensitivity to local business and social practices.
2. 5-10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions architecture and/or sales engineering.
3. 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage, preferably working on large-scale multi-petabyte solutions, with a track record of understanding customer workflows and applications to design the most suitable storage solution.
4. Passion for supporting customers and partners to provide the best solution to a specific need, optimizing technical and price constraints.
5. Experience in designing and promoting infrastructure solutions in specific industry verticals, such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Cloud and Telco Service Providers, Media, Government, Education & Research and AI.
6. Familiarity with common business tools like Salesforce, G Suite, email, Slack, Microsoft Office products, GitHub, Jira, and Zendesk.
7. Moderate Linux expertise and comfort in using a bash shell.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. All locations in Malaysia will be considered with a strong preference on Kuala Lumpur, as this is a “work from home office” position.
2. Must be a Malaysian citizen.
