Production Manager

Our client has developed into a multi-national group of companies specialized in microtechnology.

They are looking for an experienced Production & Engineering Manager for their site in Malacca.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and maintain strategies established by HQ for product line growth and customer satisfaction.
  2. Responsible for operations of production lines and general facilities within performance targets (such as capacity, productivity, scrap rates, on-time delivery, and financial budgets), ensuring compliance with mission and quality standards.
  3. Develop (for HQ approval), implement, and maintain engineering strategies that drive overall company achievement in making incremental measurable improvements in manufacturing methods, techniques, processes, equipment, quality, cost reduction, and productivity to ensure company growth.
  4. Drive and support quality initiatives designed to obtain and maintain ISO-9001:2015 certification and other related international certification requirements.
  5. Support Headquarters New Product Development Team to ensure a successful transition of products and processes (including introduction of new equipment) from design to production.
  6. Manage, facilitate, coach, and develop the Process Engineering and Facilities/Mtc Engineering teams in meeting or exceeding production goals in productivity, quality, yield, OSD, cycle time, machine/equipment maintenance & uptime (preventative maintenance), cost, and safety/housekeeping/Environmental Health and Safety.
  7. Support Group activity as requested by HQ to ensure effective parallel production at the Malaysia site and other Group production sites.
  8. Responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of production processes, ensuring that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.
  9. Analyze and propose improvements to manufacturing processes and facilities to HQ for approval, improving manufacturing techniques while introducing new processes/equipment/fixtures to production.
  10. Review and perform in-depth analysis of factory resources (human and equipment), capacity of the factory to satisfy requirements (expressed in terms of quantity and delivery dates) as stated on the Materials Delivery Schedule (MDS) provided by Headquarters, and request/suggest resources or headcount changes as needed.
  11. Prepare and present to HQ regular reporting of production/shipment schedule, productivity by product line, and availability of necessary human, material, and equipment resources.

Key Requirements:

  1. University/Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Physical Sciences, or any equivalent in Technical discipline).
  2. Experience in micro-electronics, coil winding, micro-coil winding, electro-magnetic is a plus.
  3. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Planning & Organization skills.
  5. Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (TS 16949 Quality Systems a plus).
  6. At least 5-8 years management experience, with 3 years in electronics manufacturing, particularly in Operations, Engineering, or QA.
  7. English (mandatory): Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
