About the role
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance team in day-to-day operations, assisting with various accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth operations and support the Senior Accounts Officer in daily tasks.
The role is based in Jln Trengganu, Penang, Malaysia and reports directly to the Accountant .
A summary of the key responsibilities are as follows:
- Assist in managing receivables and payables, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
- Prepare basic monthly bank reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of payments to suppliers, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Follow up on discrepancies in receipts and payments, liaising with customers, insurers, and suppliers.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure processes run smoothly.
- Provide administrative support to the local Finance team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Identify and report any issues to the Accountant and/or Group Finance in HQ for resolution.
- Any other ad hoc duties assigned when appropriate.
About you
- Candidate must possess at least SPM/Diploma in Accounting or other accounting qualification with minimum 1 year of working experience.
- Required language(s): Bilingual (Must include English).
- Required skills: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace.
- Good work attitude, meticulous, independent, proactive, responsible, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do.
- A start-up attitude - you take full ownership of things that you do, willing to go out of your comfort zones and take on new challenges.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to learn new things - we’re not done growing, and heading into uncharted territories is part of the fun!
