Academic, Full Time (Contract)

We are seeking to appoint a teaching and research focus Lecturer to join the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences on a contract basis.

The role holder will be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and will be expected to make a significant contribution to research.

Key responsibilities:

1. Deliver high quality teaching and assessment with a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.
2. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects/studies.
3. Conduct high quality research, attract competitive grants and maintain an active record of publications.
4. Contribute significantly to academic service, collegiality and engagement and external community engagement activities relevant to the discipline/profession.

About You:

1. Minimum a PhD in Public Health or related fields.
2. Possessed a minimum of one (1) year experience in academics or five (5) years of working experience in relevant fields.
3. In-depth knowledge about Public Health.
4. Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, including the ability to analyze complex data sets and interpret results effectively.
5. A high level of English verbal and written communication.
6. Familiarity with online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and learning management systems.
7. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes.
8. High teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
9. A strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
10. An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
11. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
12. An established record of research output/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
13. High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
14. Contribution to an active role in academic service and proven evidence of effective leadership within the department/faculty level as appropriate to the level of appointment.
