Job Description
- Review drawings, mechanical design calculations, material specifications, and purchase requisitions.
- Conduct technical evaluations of vendor quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and review material take-offs, material specifications, and purchase requisitions.
- Coordinate assignments and oversee work for design, drafting, and quality checking.
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and the Pressure Equipment Directive is advantageous.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with expertise in structural design, mechanical systems, and material properties.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in product design.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication and influencing across all organizational levels.
- Proficient in documentation, technical writing, and managing multiple activities to achieve divisional goals.
- Demonstrated experience in advanced design projects.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, drafting, and creating manufacturable component specifications.
- Strong computer literacy and software skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create structural fabrication, sheet metal part designs, and 2D drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and other drafting tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience with design FMEA and process FMEA is a plus.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of safety, quality standards, and ISO regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Specialized skills in materials and metallurgy, including material selection, heat treatment, and finishing.
- Mandarin speaking.
