Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Temporary Mental Health Nurse to join our team at a prestigious private hospital in Bristol which specializes in a variety of mental health issues. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor their effects.
- Provide support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Clinical Duties:
- Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes to the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
- Support and Education:
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Promote mental health awareness and advocate for patients’ needs.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior nursing staff and nursing students.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance nursing skills.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars relevant to mental health nursing.
Qualifications:
- Education: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
- Licensure: Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
- Experience: Previous experience in a mental health setting is essential.
