Job Description
Work closely with client operations teams to deliver a range of banking services to clients including:
- Timely execution and resolution of issues relating to incoming and outgoing wire transfers
- Timely execution of foreign exchange
- Provide reporting including confirmations to facilitate various internal and external reports
- Be a resource and support within a team environment, identifying and driving various banking system improvement initiatives.
Deliverables
- Oversee process international incoming, outgoing wire transfers and cheques in the banking system
- Oversee/perform thorough research on payment investigations and initiate/respond to queries to/from counterparties via SWIFT
- Ensure/provide timely response to client operations banking queries in a professional manner
- Review daily bank account reconciliations
- Review client cheque deposits
- Oversee/process client foreign exchange post-trade settlements and other regulatory reports
- Liaise with client operations teams and external auditors to complete bank confirmations
- Assist with special projects (Banking IT system upgrades/implementation)
- Support banking and client operations teams in delivery of services to external clients
- Provide training to Associates/Senior Associates
- Manage banking team development to success
Essential Requirements
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT system payment formatting and field definitions
- Thorough understanding of United States of America and International Clearing Systems
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Detailed knowledge of banking, credit, FX hedging and the local regulatory environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Oracle Flexcube
- Exposure to the Hedge Fund Industry banking client needs
- Working knowledge of FX Trading platforms including Refinitiv Fxall
- Working experience with Bloomberg
Qualifications
- Relevant post-graduate university degree or professional qualification (CA, CFA)
- Be highly organized with a pro-active approach to meet client needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with clients
- Timely, accurate response to client queries
- Demonstrate initiative in the execution of duties
- Seek out and implement opportunities to improve delivery of service
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with team members and other departments at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to motivate a team towards desired goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven attention to details
- Flexibility and willingness to contribute to the changing needs of banking clients
