POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounts, this incumbent will play an important role within the Finance & Accounts Department's operations as well as coordinating cross-functional tasks within Bridgestone Malaysia & Regional Head Office. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Leading a team responsible for the accounting and finance activities, setting high personal and professional standards, exercising effective leadership and control, with sound communication, objective setting, appraisal, and the identification of staff training and development needs.
- Liaise closely with colleagues at all levels throughout the Company to ensure that corporate priorities, financial targets, and disciplines are both well understood and adhered to.
- Work closely with Management in achieving the Company's objectives and participate actively in business growth and expansion.
- Perform ad-hoc special assignments/projects and develop contingency plans, financial analysis, reports, etc. as required by Management.
- Assist in all aspects of AR, AP, FA, and GL functions including but not limited to data entry, payment processing, preparation of reconciliation reports, GST/SST preparation, tax planning, filing, etc.
- Handle daily closing of accounts and other daily transactions at predefined schedules complete with proper reconciliation and dealing with various personnel and government authorities.
- Prepare and maintain all accounting and tax records including but not limited to journal entries, bank reconciliations, provisional tax computation, audit, and tax schedules in orderly and timely manners.
- Involve in the preparation of the annual business plan/forecast.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and other stakeholders as and when required.
- Able to interact and communicate at all levels of management and staff.
- Able to meet tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring projects as directed by superiors.
- All other AR, AP & GL tasks and duties.
- Any other relevant tasks as assigned by superiors as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must possess a Degree or Professional qualification in Finance or Accountancy, ACCA, Master's Degree, or other equivalent qualifications.
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Sound knowledge of the Malaysia Financial Reporting Standard (MFRS) & IFRS.
- Possess a high level of self-motivation, performance-driven, meticulous, independent, good time management, initiative, and proactive.
- Hands-on and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines, with a firm and mature personality.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, resourceful, and possess strong analytical and strategy formulation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
