Job Description
- Collaborate with a team of researchers, designers, and developers to drive innovation in consumer appliance products.
- Coordinate with global development sites and ensure effective communication.
- Plan and manage advanced development and systems engineering projects, focusing on timely delivery, adherence to specifications, and cost efficiency.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and the technology roadmap.
- Travel internationally as needed to support global projects and initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
- Strong strategic thinking and technical expertise in engineering fundamentals and technology.
- Proficient in communication, presentation, technical writing, and persuasive skills.
- Experienced in Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Knowledgeable in Design of Experiments (DoE), statistical techniques, MSA, process capability, and DFMEA.
- Familiar with consumer product standards and compliance (ASTM, UL, IEC).
- Skilled in Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Cost (DFMA), with a consumer-focused approach and business acumen.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred); advanced degree is a plus.
- 10-20+ years of technical experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams in consumer product design and development.
- Expertise in at least two of the following: cleaning performance, separation systems/filtrations, fluid dynamics, NVH, data analysis, simulation, and modeling.
- Proficient in statistical and analysis tools, Modelica, MATLAB, Simulink/Simscape, coding, 3D modeling, PLM systems, and SysML modeling language.
- Familiar with product design concept generation, 3D CAD, engineering drawing standards, prototyping, and engineering builds.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, for effective global collaboration.
