Position Title: Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Test Development and Implementation:
   • Design and develop test strategies and plans for SMT assemblies.
   • Create and maintain test fixtures and automated test systems.
   • Develop and program test scripts for automated testing equipment.
2. Process Optimization:
   • Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.
   • Optimize test processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
   • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies.
3. Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure all SMT products meet quality and performance standards.
   • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain testing protocols.
   • Perform failure analysis and work with design and production teams to resolve issues.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and corrective actions.
   • Generate comprehensive test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
   • Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and company policies.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   • Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to ensure testability and manufacturability of SMT products.
   • Provide technical support and guidance to production and quality teams.
   • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on test requirements and specifications.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SMT testing or a related field.
3. Skills:
   • Proficiency in developing and implementing automated test systems.
   • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
   • Strong knowledge of SMT processes and electronic components.
   • Proficient in programming languages used for test automation.
   • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
   • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
   • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
4. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, or equivalent are a plus.
