English As First Language Teacher

Details of Position

English First Language teacher required for Secondary School to teach Cambridge syllabi (Checkpoint English First Language & IGCSE English First Language).
The curricula are skills based and intended for near-native English speaking students. The focus is on close reading, inference, literary analysis, persuasive writing and composition.

Qualifications

1. The successful candidate must be a native or near-native English speaker (IELTS Band 8 or equivalent).
2. Prior experience of teaching IGCSE English First Language is desirable.
3. A degree in English Language/Literature and a postgraduate teaching qualification such as PGCE are strongly preferred.

Salary and Benefits

1. Monthly salary: Competitive salary commensurate with Qualifications and Experience + Employee Providence Fund 6.5% of the gross salary.
