The Group CFO manages all accounting & financial processes of the group by planning, directing, and conducting accounting activities within the Finance Department by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinates:
- Responsibility in overseeing all accounting functions, such as general ledgers, financial statements & cost control systems, ensuring that all reporting and bookkeeping is accurate and in compliance with financial regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all statutory taxes.
- Oversee the month-end closing process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.
- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocations.
- Regularly examine financial statements to ensure they are accurate and free of any errors.
- Prepare and present month budget vs. actual reports for ownership entities.
- Prepare and present monthly cash flow reports for each ownership entity.
- Analyse accounting reports and make formal recommendations for improvements to reduce costs and increase profits.
- Access & evaluate the financial performance of the organization with regards to goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations.
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
- Assure conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage the preparation and support of all external audits.
- Ensure the proper usage of all financial software. Encourage the usage of financial software to provide financial and operational information. Make suggestions for automating processes and increasing efficiency.
- Manage ad-hoc projects related to financial software, such as Change Requests and requirements for integration. Stay abreast of industry changes and current tax/accounting laws. Determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.
- Represent the Finance Department at Board Meetings and present Financial Reports to the Board of Directors.
- Implement new financial policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate.
- Coordinate and strategize methods to attain team goals and initiatives within the finance department.
- Mentor and develop the finance department team members; managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance plus either one of CPA, CMA, or ACCA.
- Certified Public Accountant with 10 or more years related experience.
- Skills in financial applications such as MS AX Dynamics, Oracle Financial Netsuite, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in MS Excel.
- Language skills with ability to read, analyse, and interpret relevant technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or coworkers.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and boards of directors.
- Strong leadership skills & Detail Oriented.
