HSE Engineer - Pasir Gudang Site

As our HSE Engineer at the Pasir Gudang site, you'll play a vital role in driving a culture of safety and environmental sustainability. You'll proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and our commitment to responsible manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the EHS Management System, ensuring its effectiveness in both theory and practice.
  2. Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and management systems to guarantee compliance with relevant regulations.
  3. Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to identify and address potential risks.
  4. Oversee EHS personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure monthly activities and reports are completed effectively.
  5. Manage and analyze EHS data, including KPIs, monitoring reports, and waste management.
  6. Provide technical support on EHS matters and advise management on necessary actions.
  7. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, environmental protection, and operational efficiency.
  8. Deliver effective EHS training programs to all employees, ensuring comprehension and adherence to safety standards.
  9. Foster open communication, disseminating EHS information across the organization.
  10. Participate in relevant meetings, including the Environmental Committee, and collaborate with other Kerry sites.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Degree/Master's in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Chemistry, or an equivalent field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in EHS/OSH within a multinational manufacturing environment (food industry experience a plus).
  3. Registration with DOSH as a competent Safety & Health Officer (valid Green Book holder).
  4. Certification as an ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Lead Auditor and working knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards (preferred).
  5. In-depth knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 2022 and relevant environmental regulations.
  6. Familiarity with EHS management tools and software (e.g., Intelex).
  7. Strong leadership with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accountability, quality, and timeliness.
  9. Strong organizational and technical skills with a passion for safety and a results-oriented approach.
  10. Excellent communication (written and verbal) with the ability to deliver clear presentations.
  11. Demonstrable experience with compliance audits, safety management systems, and data analysis.
  12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
