UCT is looking for a talented Manager, Engineering to join us in Malaysia!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transfer technical processes to new sites.
- Technical process audits.
- Continuous improvement.
- Driving automation to eliminate labor in processes.
- Process standardization throughout all the sites.
- Re-engineering technical processes to take out costs.
- Review and training of quality document revisions.
- Make timely logical decisions based on facts, processes, and financial inputs.
- Monitor, track and report on monthly KPIs.
- Ensures that specific project and program objectives are defined for areas of responsibility and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of completion.
- Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion.
- Ensures that all phases of project, program, and/or process development are documented, and that information required in other functional areas is reported, disseminated, or transferred, as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with company policies including (but not limited to) engineering/lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality, ISO, safety, and others as required.
- Ensures that the utilization of all material and financial resources is carried out in an effective manner.
- Effectively assigns work to subordinate staff, providing for professional development in addition to maximum productivity for the area.
- Responsible for departmental budgets and spending requirements.
- Effectively utilizes competing resources for optimization of product configuration activities and timelines.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Individuals at this level must have well-developed Engineering technical skills.
- Knowledge of Configurable Products and BOM structures.
- Competent in Agile PLM and SAP ERP system.
- Familiar with Semicon modules and equipment build & Testing.
- Familiar with OMS/WI, PFMEA, Lean concepts, and Six sigma projects.
- Automation concepts and implementation experience.
- Requires strong skills in change management, problem-solving, written and verbal communications, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills, and applying quality.
- Demonstrated ability required in Human Resources management and leadership.
- Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform specific job functions such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, flowcharting, PDM, CFD, FEA, and various CAD platforms.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
BS/BE Level degree in an appropriate technical discipline, or equivalent.
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering and experience in managing Equipment maintenance team and welding process understanding. Working in the contract manufacturing environment and semiconductor industry preferred.
Management Work Experience: 2+ years’ experience in Engineering Management and 3+ years supervisory/management experience.
