Responsibilities
- Play a critical role in ensuring that our products and materials meet all relevant compliance standards.
- Provide Environmental consultation and reporting services to respective Internal Business Units or end Customers.
- Identify applicable compliance standards and develop policies and strategies.
- Execute short-term and long-range implementation programs.
- Interpret regulations, assess risks, and propose best-fit procedures.
- Prepare and sign-off compliance reports and declarations.
- Manage materials compliance database.
- Adopt industry best practices for documentation processes and templates.
- Track regulatory developments and emerging practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address customer compliance requests.
- Experience working as a compliance engineer.
Must have:
- Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards - RoHS, REACH (SCIP), Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, TSCA, POPs, Ozone Depleting Substances, Biocides, EU Packaging and Waste, CLP, PFAS, WEEE, etc. Keep up-to-date with new or revised Environmental related Regulations.
- Proficient in report writing and material compliance management processes. Provide material composition documentation training to new suppliers for successful environmental data collection. Extract and compile the finalized Material Composition Reporting reports (both standard and customized) to meet Customers’ requirements.
- Send requests to Manufacturers/Suppliers for Material Composition Data from the supply base. Review and ensure Manufacturers/Suppliers submitted declared documents meet the acceptance criteria. Upload declared documents into relevant databases for report and record purposes. Maintain and ensure regular updates in databases.
- Experience in project management and quality & reliability control is desirable. Meet Customers' project deadlines and requirements. Monitor and follow up closely with Manufacturers/Suppliers on data submission progress. Escalate unsupportive Manufacturers/Suppliers when necessary.
- Result-driven, attention-to-detail, and passionate for continuous improvements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Added advantage:
- Knowledge of product labelling (CE, CCC, FCC markings, etc.) and packaging requirements is desirable.
- Experience in product safety and EMC certification (IEC62368, 60601, 55032, 61000, etc.) is desirable.
- Experience in product environmental standards on IPC/IEC/ISO (IEC 62476, IEC 6000, ISO 14065, IEC 62474, IPC 1752A, IEC 62321, ISO 17025, etc.)
- Familiarity with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, SharePoint, or Gsuite.
- Fundamental knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools such as MS Power Query, SQL, Power BI, etc.
- Experience in Agile, Oracle, CDX, BOMCheck, Assent Systems, especially experienced in product data extraction from the systems. Scrub customers' BOM (Bill of Material).
Qualification & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics, mechanical, chemical engineering, or other engineering disciplines is required.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in the related field.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and reliability in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Capable of expressing in English with accuracy and efficiency, for both written and oral communication.
