Chief Commercial Officer - Asset Management

About Our Client

Our client is an asset management firm, backed by a well-capitalised conglomerate. As part of the expansion strategy, they are now looking to hire a Chief Commercial Officer (with potential to step up as CEO) to provide leadership and strategic directions in growing the business (conventionally or digitally). The high calibre CCO will also provide commercial directions to elevate the company to the next stage of growth and continue to serve the investor mandate in addition to safeguarding the strong brand of the company and good relationship with regulators/stakeholders.

Job Description

• Provide overall leadership and directions on commercial and strategic initiatives, particularly to drive AUM growth and expansion via both conventional and digital channels
• Development of business strategic plans to expand into new segments and capitalise on opportunities ensuring commercial returns are achieved
• Coordinate and mobilise other heads of divisions to ensure successful execution and implementation of strategies including harmonising, synergising and leveraging on overall capabilities
• In conjunction with the Board of Directors and Chairman, provide advise and innovative ideas to identify new initiatives to differentiate from competition and deeper penetration including minimising attrition
• Build and cultivate productive relationships with regulators, stakeholders and other partners
• Assume the role as a spokesperson and main representative of the company within the investment community including upholding integrity, ethics and the brand
• Training and development, particularly in the area of financial services/investment for the team

The Successful Applicant

• Recognised and accredited Degree or Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
• Professional qualifications in asset management or capital markets (or licenses/certifications) will be an added advantage but not compulsory
• Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in financial services or wealth/asset management (with significant part of the experience in a commercial / strategic scope
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience held in a leadership / managerial capacity
• Demonstrated experience in the related scope of responsibilities will be an added advantage. Partial exposure is negotiable depending on willingness to learn
• Commitment to growth and excellence for both the company and on both professional and personal level
