Occupational Health & Safety (Human Resources & Recruitment)
- To lead the SHE department for the facility, and report to the facility’s General Manager
- Oversee and spearhead facility and organization Safety, Health and Environment practices towards compliance with Company, Organization and Legal requirements.
- To coach and promote SHE management practices amongst internal (employees) and external (contractors, suppliers and customers) stakeholders of the organization.
- Lead the planning and implementation of SHE Annual Objectives for the facility and organization.
- Perform the role of Safety and Health Officer (SHO) and manage other registered SHOs and Safety Supervisors in accordance to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
- Perform the duty of the Site SHE Steering Committee secretary as per OSHA requirement
- Responsible towards regular SHE audits and workplace-based inspections, provision of recommendation for improvements, and tracking for closure of the actions.
- Lead or ensure reporting and investigation of accidents, spillages, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease as per organization and OSHA requirements.
- Monitor implementation, closure and continuous improvement of action items from incident investigations facility wide.
- Responsible for the updating of the Emergency Response Management Plan, and its implementation
- Responsible towards the facility’s environmental management and spillage controls are in place.
- Responsible towards the facility’s monthly SHE reporting to the Corporate SHE and Management team members.
- Responsible for ensuring that fire protection equipment, including the hydrant pumps, pipelines, fire extinguishers, smoke & heat detectors, sprinkler system, hose reels, fire alarms, etc. are in good working order at all times.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of facility SHE training matrix, plan and work closely with facility HR department on adherence to the training plan.
- Responsible for the facility’s legal compliance towards Occupational Safety & Health Act Amendment 2022, Environmental Quality Act 1974, Fire Service Act Amendment 2020 and Responsible Care.
- Comply with ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 and other standards requirements imposes by the Company and product specification required by local and international client.
- Comply with standards of Management systems and requirements adopted by the Company.
Requirements:
- Preferably candidate with Diploma / Degree in Safety, Health & Environment.
- Has passed the required examination for SHO course conducted by NIOSH or its equivalent, and is a registered Safety and Health Officer with Department of Safety and Health (DOSH)
- Have minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in similar environment.
- Experience in management and implementation of ISO14001 and OSHAS 45001.
- Having a sound background in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment practices from the manufacturing industry or equivalent.
- Possesses good leadership, teamwork and communication traits in leading the organization’s SHE department as well as working closely with all internal and external stakeholders associated.
