R&D Chemist

Job Summary:

Research and development of new product, testing new and improved materials (e.g. refill, tip, ink, etc.); establish and maintain specification's document control procedure (e.g. Product Specification, ink formulation, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties: (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule)

• Plan, arrange and conduct testing, monitoring, trial production of product material.

• Test new and improved material and prepare testing report.

• Testing and analyzing relevant components (chemical/ink/refill/tip/yarn etc) for new product development, existing product functional improvement and product formulation. 

• Analyze & investigate problem arise from production due to functional issues or customer 

complaints.

• Establish and maintain testing analysis report and quality document (e.g.: specification).

• Train and guide the new staff.

Secondary duties: (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule)

• Prepare sample item for relevant department/ division.

• Follow up all abnormal cases.

• Perform other related duties as required.

• Distribute testing analysis report and quality document to relevant department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Computer literate.

• Fluent in speaking and writing both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.

• Possess knowledge of chemistry.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Preferably Bachelor Degree in chemistry or relevant field.
