Accountant / Assistant Group Controller

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare full set of accounts and relevant schedules/listing/reconciliation; including daily accounting duties and ensuring accounting records and systems comply with the Company’s policies, accounting standards and related statutory and tax requirements.
  2. Liaise with project team to prepare project related schedules to ensure accuracy of the information provided for closing and reporting purpose.
  3. Prepare company forecast and budget and review project budget.
  4. Oversee day to day accounting and treasury functions.
  5. Handle tax matters including transfer pricing documentation and highlight all the issues of the companies to Group on a timely basis.
  6. Manage month end closing to meet the deadlines and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
  7. Review all the staff claims, petty cash claims and close advances submitted, processing the claims on a timely basis.
  8. Complete any other assignments given by your superior from time to time.
  9. Preparation of consolidated accounts of the group and ensure the accounts are prepared accurately and timely for reporting.
  10. Review full set of accounts of subsidiaries.
  11. Responsible for the preparation of audited Group financial statements and audit exercise.
  12. Compile and present reports, budgets, and financial statements.
  13. Conduct financial forecasting and risk analysis.
  14. Liaise with auditors and relevant parties for statutory and legislative requirements.
  15. Ensure compliance with internal control, MFRS, Bursa requirements, Companies Act, and FEA ruling.
  16. Develop and improve the accounting and finance department.
  17. Prepare monthly division reports and reports as required from time to time.

Requirements

  1. Must possess at least a Degree in Accounting or any Professional Certificate (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA).
  2. Required languages: English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  3. Minimum four years working experience in the accounting field.
  4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  5. Able to work independently and meet demanding deadlines.
  6. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  7. Candidate with an audit background would be an added advantage.
  8. Experience in SAGE accounting system would be an added advantage.
