Senior Systems Integrator

Objectives and scope of the job

Technical lead for complex interdisciplinary tasks during the development of medical devices. Integration of modules, installation and verification of prototypes with focus on all relevant disciplines (mechanics, electronics, software and consumables)

Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Main tasks

Main Tasks:

• Independent execution of system integration work in interdisciplinary project teams in all phases of the project, taking into account all boundary and framework conditions (product risks,

market risks, economic viability, reliability, laws, standards, manufacturability, maintainability, usability, etc.).

• Support or collaboration in the analysis and definition of integration-relevant product requirements and specifications.

• Support or collaboration in the creation of product concepts.

• Development of functional models and module prototypes up to complete systems preceding the pilot production run, in collaboration with other specialists.

• Conducting feasibility studies.

• Designing and conducting development tests against test criteria and selecting suitable measuring instruments.

• Conducting verification tests throughout the entire product development cycle.

• Defining and creating test documentation for feasibility studies, development, and verification tests.

• Supporting project management in creating master documents.

• Assessing and advising on interdisciplinary topics to achieve milestones.

• Initiating corrective actions in case of deviations from requirements.

• Troubleshooting, including analysis, hypothesis generation, evidence generation, and solution implementation.

• Operation and maintenance of measurement systems.

• Onboarding new employees.

• Ensuring knowledge transfer and retention across projects.

• Compliance with regulatory requirements, ISO 13485, and QSR standards.

• Expert participation in internal reviews.

Responsibilities:

Requirements/Skills/Competencies

Basic Education -Technical degree, preferably computer science, mechanical, electrical or software engineering

Further Education - Broad education in technical sciences with HW and SW development.

- Trainings in systems engineering and project management

Experience - 6+ years experience in instrument development

Language Skills - English (fluent)

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Excellent knowledge of medical devices and the medical device industry

Excellent knowledge of the technology domains mechanics, electronics and software

Knowledge of project managements methods

Knowledge of quality methods and reglementations relevant for medical device industry

Consistently seeking and learning new technology

Ability to analyze and explain complex technical information

Create, evaluate, promote and explain solutions to complex technical problems

Write clear and detailed technical documentation

Ability to conduct complex research

BSc in computer science, mechanical, electrical or software engineering
