Description:
- Experience: 1 - 3 years.
- This position is for an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop data acquisition devices.
- Engineers in this position will work on a multi discipline team, interfacing with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Engineers at this level are expected to work on complex issues and develop resolutions where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and/or frequent use of creativity.
- Engineers in this position are expected to follow the complete electrical development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding and testing.
- Engineers in this position may work as a technical contributor as part of a team or may be asked to lead smaller scale electrical development efforts lasting approximately 6 to 12 months in duration and leading a team of 1 to 3 electrical developers.
- Lead electrical engineers in this position will be responsible for representing the electrical team on the core product team, communicating issues and status to the program manager, creating the electrical development schedule and electrical project plans, and delegating technical assignments to the electrical development team.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with embedded microprocessors, memory systems, analog circuits, schematic capture and hi-speed PCB layout best practices and batteries.
- Knowledge of data capture devices such as imagers (CCD /CMOS), laser scanners, magnetic swipe readers, radios, biometric devices.
- Experience in product development.
- Experience in pre-compliance testing.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Advanced troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
- Leadership skills; Ability to lead small scale electrical development efforts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
