Bending Machine Operator

About the role

The ability to read blueprints is essential for determining the measurements of each product and operating the press brake to cut and bend materials into the required shapes. Once the pieces are complete, you will check their dimensions and ensure they meet the specifications. Previous experience with press machine operation, whether in steel manufacturing or sheet metal work, is highly desirable. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with semi-automatic bending machines.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete the machine (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start the production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (E.g. Speed)
• Insert raw material or parts into semi-automatic machines
• Check parts with precision and measuring instruments
• Test the operation of the machine periodically
• Fix potential problems during shifting
• Check the output for any errors or shortcomings associated with the machine
• Ability to calculate, blank measurements, bending locations, measurements and appropriate appliance for each part formed
• Keep records of approved and defective end units or products
• Ensuring that projects completed according to timeline
• Creation of necessary program corrections
• Can perform other duties as prescribed by management

Location & commitments

• Full-time
• 08:00AM – 18:00PM
• Taman Teknologi Johor, Senai Johor Malaysia
• Willing to work Overtime and shift

Candidate Requirements

• Experienced with bending machines
• Must be able to work from drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals / specifications or sample parts to determine the dimensions and tolerances of the finished product, operating sequence and preparation requirements. Able to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings / CAD
• Candidates must possess at least Secondary School/SPM/O-Level/SKM
• Experience in Sheet Metal fabrication
• Understand production procedures
• Able to work independently
• Good problem – solving skills
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong Physical Fit
