The Patch and Release Engineer is responsible for managing the patch management lifecycle, including planning, testing, deployment, and verification of patches for various systems and applications.

This role involves ensuring that systems are up to date with security patches and updates to protect the organization from vulnerabilities and compliance risks.

• Supporting users from German or US time zone.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive patch management process, including policies and procedures.
• Identify, classify, and prioritize patches for operating systems, applications, and hardware.
• Test patches in a controlled environment before deployment to ensure compatibility and stability.
• Work with Servers, Data Centre owners and IT teams to validate patches and updates.
• Manage patch management tools to deploy patches across the organization's IT infrastructure.
• Monitor and support patch deployment progress and address any deployment failures or issues.
• Ensure that all systems are patched according to the organization's policies and compliance requirements.
• Stay informed about new vulnerabilities and patches released by vendors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patch management activities, including patch schedules, deployment logs, and test results.
• Generate reports on patch status, compliance, and vulnerabilities.
• Provide regular updates to management on patch management activities and progress.
• Identify opportunities to improve the patch management process and implement best practices.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in patch management and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to enhance overall IT security and operations.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of patch management and cybersecurity best practices.
• Proficiency with patch management tools (e.g., Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, Tanium, etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or a related role.
• Proven experience with patch management processes and tools.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator are advantageous.
