Job Description:

1969 Business Suites is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s facilities, ensuring that all equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely. This role is crucial in providing a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to identify and address maintenance issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including kitchen appliances, elevators, lighting, and more.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all maintenance activities.
• Monitor and manage the hotel’s energy usage to optimize efficiency.
• Assist with renovation and refurbishment projects as needed.
• Keep maintenance tools and equipment in good working condition and store them securely.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Certification in any relevant technical field (e.g., HVAC, electrical) is a plus.
