Brooks Automation is a fast-paced technology company that works on the cutting edge of Semiconductor robotics and automation solutions. As we continue to push the capabilities of robotics inside of semiconductor fabs, we are looking for someone who is excited by both technology and manufacturing automation.

As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Greenfield site in JB, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, tooling, and operations for new and existing products.

Work Location: This is an onsite role and requires the candidate to be based at our Johor Bahru site.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products and liaise with engineering in releasing new products.
  2. Support manufacturing to avoid production line disruptions and work closely with all cross-functional groups to support non-conforming material processing and work effectively with the quality organization to ensure a well-built, robust product.
  3. Ensure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs.
  4. Select, develop, and evaluate teams to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  5. Drive Continuous Improvement through the real implementation of lean manufacturing and SPC.
  6. Develop both short term (1-year) and long term (3-5 year) manufacturing engineering strategy for Brook’s global manufacturing.
  7. Own and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the department including safety, quality, and productivity.
  8. Leverage data analytics to identify, prioritize, and drive root cause corrective actions.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  1. Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree with at least 10 years of technical, manufacturing engineering experience.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and associated tools with experience implementing Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
  3. Technical proficiency and engineering fundamentals with Project Management and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to understand and use manufacturing processes and to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  5. Strong people management skills to lead a team of highly skilled engineers across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, test, etc.).
  6. Semiconductor Capital Equipment experience (highly advantageous) & Cleanroom experience (preferred).
  7. Ability to communicate effectively in both shop floor settings and at executive reviews.
  8. High energy with the desire to drive change and create a world-class manufacturing operation.
  9. Knowledge of Safety Protocols (people and product) regarding automation and robotics.
