Senior Piping Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Piping Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Keep informed of development in the field of computer and CAD applications as applicable to the Piping Drawing Office;
- Responsible for ensuring that contract procedures on safety and quality control are followed;
- Submit monthly progress reports and drawing indices to the Project Manager / Project Engineering Manager;
- Keep abreast of discipline developments, new technology and techniques;
- Responsible for the correct interpretation and execution of all piping computer aided draughting functions within the Piping Drawing Office;
- Advise the HOD Piping Designer of manpower requirements to meet work schedules within the budget allocation;
- Review all information available for each phase of the project and report on delays in receipt of information to the Project Supervisor;
- Prepare document indices for projects to ensure that the scope of work is planned economically and that target dates are known;
- Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports as and when required;
- Give guidance to Piping Designers if required;
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to clients and project standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years experience;
- N3 or Matric;
- MicroStation CAD Software Package Version J or later;
- SmartPlant 3D PDS experience.
