Our company is looking for a Copy Editor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Trimming copy to fit layouts Writing captions Checking by-lines and credits are correct and page numbers against latest flat plan;
  • Helping to maintain the editorial standard of excellence;
  • Writing catchy headers, blurbs and cover lines;
  • Review and revise content for accuracy and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax;
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time;
  • Check facts and look out for potential legal issues such as libel and copyright issues;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest editing guidelines and best practices;
  • Proofread printed publications, including magazines, books, and collaterals;
  • Ensuring appropriate style and tone and that all copy is reader friendly (i.e.: easy to understand and a pleasure to read);
  • Checking consistency of straps, blurbs, captions, pull quotes, fonts, and general design style;
  • Ensure copy is in line with each brand’s style and voice;
  • Ensure captions and images are correct;
  • Correcting factual and language errors;
  • Ensure correct tone, clarity, structure, and logic;
  • Develop and update in-house style guide with the editorial manager as required.

Requirements:

  • Proofreading;
  • Copy Editing;
  • Open for Fresh Graduates;
  • Highly energetic, motivated, and can work with minimum supervision;
  • Management Skills – planning, leading, organizing and controlling;
  • High attention to detail and excel in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Willing to work on shifting schedule;
  • Sharp eye, writing experience, and good grammar knowledge;
  • Patient, hardworking and can work well with a team;
  • Copywriting;
  • Must have a team approach, work well with others and can build relationships across all parties (internal teams and clients);
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism or related area;
  • Feature Writing;
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • Must be willing to work in a graveyard shift/shifting schedule.
