Payroll Associate

The Payroll Associate I is responsible for balancing payroll runs, producing federal, state, and local tax payments. Prepares the monthly payroll information by entering payroll data to payroll system. Being a Payroll Associate I may maintain records on vacation, sick leave, etc. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Answers questions and requirements about payroll information. In addition, Payroll Associate I typically reports to a Supervisor or a Manager. Being a Payroll Associate I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Our company is looking for a Payroll Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of a Payroll Consultant and perform payroll functions for a portfolio of clients;
  • Complete monthly and weekly payroll processing (for smaller payrolls) timeously;
  • Check third party payment / deductions;
  • Seek opportunities to learn about other cultures and other parts of the business across the Network of PwC firms;
  • Ensure that administrative duties i.e. filing/record keeping is up to date and;
  • Request payment to be made into our account;
  • Attend to all queries relating to payroll;
  • Prepare month to month reconciliations for all payroll clients;
  • Validate data and analysis for accuracy and relevance;
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner – verbally and in written form;
  • Share and collaborate effectively with others;
  • Keep up-to-date with technical developments for business area;
  • Work with existing processes/systems whilst making constructive suggestions for improvements;
  • General Administration and assistance with the Tax Compliance Department’;
  • Prepare journal entries for clients.

Requirements:

  • Payroll;

  • At least 1 year of related working experience;
  • Male/Female;
  • Prepare month to month reconciliations for all payroll clients;
  • Highly analytical and systematic;
  • Request payment to be made into our account;
  • Ensure that administrative duties i.e. filing/record keeping is up to date and;
  • Relationship Management;
  • Work under the supervision of a Payroll Consultant and perform payroll functions for a portfolio of clients;
  • Preferably someone whose adept to MS Excel;
  • Seek opportunities to learn about other cultures and other parts of the business across the Network of PwC firms.
