Head Butcher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Head Butcher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Report any food spoilage/wastage to the Head Chef;
- Ensure effective food storage and stock rotation;
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination;
- Comply with hotel security and fire regulations;
- Assist other departments and maintain good working relationships;
- Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner;
- Prepare all meats and fish to the highest quality and within company guidelines;
- Be environmentally aware;
- Responsible for controlling costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets;
- Establish and monitor portion sizes for cuts of meat and fish;
- Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues;
- Responsible for complying with and training Health and Safety and Food Safety standards and legislation.
Requirements:
- Positive attitude;
- Relevant qualification;
- Ability to work on your own or in teams;
- Achieved Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate;
- Previous kitchen or butchery experience;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good communication skills.
