About the Role

Contributes to the accounting operations by handling payment and account payable transactions timely, with minimal delay or errors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Process daily ad hoc payments submitted manually to Finance, timely and accurately. Process manual TT payments in bank portal, thereafter advice the payment status to requestors. Act as back up processor to Cheque Writer System to ensure all policyholder payments are completed within agreed turnaround time, with no or minimal errors.

2. Prepare UMA claim letters requested by business user. Liaise and follow-up with Jabatan Akauntan Negara (JAN) to re-call customer's unclaimed money submitted in prior years including preparation of Journal Entry vouchers. Advise and follow up with business user in-charge to raise journal once re-call is successful.

3. Process and send stop cheque instructions to banks. Receive and distribute physical cheques to business users.

4. Build and maintain good working relationships with counterparties related to payment processing such as banks, internal operational staffs and vendors with fast, timely and quality advice or solution and support. Work closely with service provider, AIA MYSSO to ensure payment processing are smooth and timely.

5. Strive to continuously improve payment processes (both IT or non-IT related) with aim to achieve optimal quality and efficiency. Have a curious attitude and care to question or highlight suspiciously wrong payments.

6. Carry out other responsibilities and duties as required and assigned by immediate Superior.

Job requirements :

Education : Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.

Work Experience : 2 years working experience preferably in insurance or financial industry.

General Requirements :

- Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills and initiatives.

- Proficiency in Microsoft office, effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge in SAP / ARIBA is an added advantage.

- Independent and able to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
