As a Plant Manager specializing in automotive wire harness manufacturing, you will lead all aspects including planning, scheduling and execution of our facility dedicated to producing wire harnesses for automotive applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the plant, meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, cost-effective planning, processing, production, and shipping. Your role will involve managing resources effectively, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving initiatives to optimize productivity and enhance operational performance specifically tailored to wire harness production. Your role will be the direct manager for each supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Production Management:

Develop and implement strategies to meet production goals for automotive wire harnesses while maintaining optimal efficiency and quality standards.
Coordinate production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of wire harness products to meet customer demands and automotive assembly line requirements.
Monitor production processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and minimize defects in wire harnesses.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Supervisors, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures specific to wire harness manufacturing to ensure that products meet or exceed automotive industry standards and customer specifications.
Conduct regular inspections and audits throughout the production process, utilizing tools such as PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify and mitigate quality risks.
Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to develop and implement wire harness-specific quality improvement initiatives, including defect reduction programs and process optimization projects.

Resource Management:

Manage and optimize the utilization of resources dedicated to automotive wire harness production, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Develop and manage production budgets specific to wire harness manufacturing operations, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings while ensuring the availability of necessary resources to meet production demands.
Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of production staff, including wire harness assemblers, technicians, engineers, and supervisors, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
Provide guidance, training, and support to employees, facilitating skill development and cross-training initiatives to ensure a flexible and capable workforce.
Promote a positive work environment where open communication, collaboration, and continuous learning are encouraged to drive employee engagement and retention.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure the highest standards of workplace safety are maintained throughout the wire harness manufacturing plant, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, implementing measures to mitigate hazards and prevent accidents or injuries.
Provide comprehensive safety training to employees, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices and fostering a safety-conscious culture among all team members.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives specifically tailored to wire harness production processes, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping to identify opportunities for waste reduction, process optimization, and efficiency improvements.
Encourage innovation and creativity among team members, empowering them to propose and implement ideas for enhancing wire harness manufacturing processes, product quality, and overall operational performance.

Ad-Hoc Tasks from Management:

Handle additional assignments and projects as directed by senior management or company leadership, addressing strategic priorities and supporting organizational objectives.
Examples of ad-hoc tasks may include strategic planning, supplier relationship management, new product development, capital investment planning, community engagement, corporate social responsibility, crisis management, and business continuity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electronics & electricals engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
Proven experience (at least 15 years) in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably within the wire harness industry or manufacturing operations.
.Extensive experience in manufacturing management, with a focus on automotive wire harness production highly preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing professionals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
In-depth knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes, automotive industry standards, and quality management systems.
Experience with implementing and sustaining continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
